Mary Virginia Hutchison

Concord-Mary Virginia Hutchison, 82, passed away Monday evening, January 14, 2013, at Universal Health Care, where she had been a resident. Born in Cabarrus County on September 7, 1930, she was a daughter of the late B.C. and Martha Furr Crisco. A loving mother and grandmother, Mary had been a devoted homemaker and member of Prince of Peace Freewill Baptist Church in Kannapolis. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two daughters, Pat Tucker and Judy Wacaster; a grandson, Brandon Long; 2 brothers and 2 sisters.

Family members left with cherished memories include her sons, Melvin Long (Sandy), of Atlanta, GA and Ronnie Long of Salisbury; her daughter, Kathy Curran (Brian) of Buffalo, NY; her sister, Ellen Shuffler of Concord; 12 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends Friday, January 18, 2013, from 1:00 - 2:00 PM at Linn-Honeycutt Funeral Home in China Grove. Funeral services to remember and celebrate Mary's life will begin at 2:00 PM in the funeral home chapel, conducted by the Rev. Chuck Overcash. Burial will follow in West Lawn Memorial Park.
