Mary Ann Newton

Mrs. Mary Ann Misenheimer Newton, 72 of Rockwell passed away on Wednesday, May 25, 2016 at her residence. Born on May 13, 1944 in Rowan County , she was the daughter of the late George and Lillie Belle Holshouser Misenheimer. Educated in the Rowan County Schools, she was of the Baptist faith. Mrs. Newton retired from Parkdale Mills in Salisbury. She loved to play bingo and enjoyed watching QVC. In addition to her parents, she was preceded by her husband David Lee Newton Sr. in 1997 and a son Michael Newton and daughter Veronica Newton. Those left to cherish her memory are her sons, Robbie Newton (Cynthia) and David Newton Jr. both of Rockwell and Steve Newton (Carrie) of Salisbury. Also surviving her are her grandchildren, Robert Newton Jr. Mandy , Brandon, Felicia, Haley, Alisha, Candis, and Christian Newton, as well as Dachelle McCarthy, Cody Shoaf, Brittany Newton-Barnette, Justin and Autumn Parris, Steven Newton Jr. and 9 great grandchildren. Also surviving her are her brothers,Larry, Billy, Tim and Gary Wayne Misenheimer, and sisters Peggy Swinson, Judy Plummer and Cathy Severt.

Visitation will be on Friday from 11:00 til 12:00 at Linn Honeycutt Funeral Home in China Grove with funeral following at 12:00 noon with Rev. Larry Beaver, minister. Burial will follow at West Lawn Memorial Park. Online condolences may be made to the family at www.linnhoneycuttfuneralhome.com.
