Maurice Winfred Mills

Maurice Mills, better known as Dusty, was born October 15, 1964, in Orange County, California. He passed March 7, 2026, at his home in China Grove, North Carolina.

He was a devoted husband, loving father and pawpaw, most of all Dusty was a man of God! He was driven by his faith and love for his family. As a hardworking man Dusty devoted 40 years of his life to working in aviation, and 8 years as a fireman at the Landis fire department, the passion he had for his work was truly inspiring.

Dusty was preceded in death by his mother, Nancy Hahn, his father Mitchel Mills, his stepmother Eileen Mills and his granddaughter Olivia Mills.

Surviving is his wife Michelle Mills of the home, his brother Jon Mills, his two sons, James Mills and wife Taylor, Matthew Mills and wife Taylor, his two stepdaughters, Dana Starnes and Jessica Robertson, his 3 grandsons Liam Mills, Wesley Mills and Christian Robertson.

A Receiving of friends and family will be at Piedmont Baptist Church, Kannapolis from 4:00pm- 5:00 pm on March 27, 2026. Celebration of life service will follow directly after.

In Lieu of flowers donation for his funeral expenses are being asked for.
