

Born in Rowan County on September 15, 1958, he was the son of the late Maynard Lee Parris and Ruby Buie Parris.
Earl graduated from North Rowan High School – Class of 1976, and from Rowan-Cabarrus Community College with an Associate Degree in Automotive.
On September 23, 1979, he married Debbie Sloop Parris and together they have shared 45 years together.
Earl retired from the North Carolina Highway Patrol Department as the Garage Supervisor after 41 years of service. Upon his retirement, he was awarded The Order of the Long Leaf Pine Award in 2017 for his faithful service.
In addition to his career, he volunteered for 3 ½ with Millers Ferry Fire Department and 46 1/2 years with the Locke Fire Department. Earl spent his life serving others. He will be remembered for his faithfulness to his family, community and to his church, Grace Lutheran Church, where he was a member of Men in Mission.
Those left to cherish his memory are his loving wife, Debbie Sloop Parris; sons, Jeremy Parris and Matthew (Carly) Parris; granddaughter, Aria Parris and sister, Cathy (Wayne) Wagoner.
The family will receive friends at Grace Lutheran Church Family Life Center – Friday, March 21, 2025 from 1:00 PM -2:45 PM.
The funeral service will begin at 3:00 PM in the Family Life Center with Pastor Josh Copeland officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
