Melba Walters Funderburke

Mrs. Melba Louise Walters Funderburke, 88 of China Grove passed away on Tuesday, January 17, 2017 at Novant Health Rowan Medical Center. Born on June 30, 1928 in Robeson County, she was the daughter of the late Odie P. and Zonie Hines Walters. Educated in the Rowan County Schools, she was a longtime member of Ebenezer Lutheran Church. She and her husband Glenn were owner operators of the Jean House. She loved to go to the beach, reading and enjoying life with her friends and family. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Glenn Edward Funderburke as well as brother Kyle Walters and sister Gearlean W. Hatley. Those left to cherish her memory are her daughter Kim F. Young and husband Vennie of China Grove as well as grandchildren Natasha Burton and husband Bill and Justin G. Young, and great granddaughter Brittany Burton as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be on Saturday from 1:00 til 2:00 at Ebenezer Lutheran Church with funeral at 2:00 also at the church with Rev. Bob Young, minister. Burial will follow at the church cemetery.
