Born in Rowan County on December 4, 1963, he was the son of Faye Starnes Merkt and Harold Arthur Overcash.
Michael attended South Rowan High School and worked at Jimmy’s Restaurant until he became disabled.
His grandparents, Herbert and Nettie Overcash and Sawyer and Kathleen Starnes, preceded him in death.
Those left to cherish his memory are his son, Matthew Overcash (Tiffany); his mother, Faye Starnes Merkt and his father, Harold Arthur Overcash (Stamie) of Salisbury.
His sister, Sharon Overcash Freeze (John) of Harrisburg, NC; nephew, Ian Freeze and niece, Jasey Freeze, also survives.
There will be no formal services at this time.
