Nellie Gray Henley Michael

Mrs. Michael was born on November 29, 1926 in Rowan County and was the daughter of the late Carl Henley and Fannie Kepley Henley.

Educated in the Rowan County schools, she was a longtime active member of Landis Baptist Church, where she was a member of the Raye Horn Circle and the Come and Dine Sunday School Class.

She worked for many years at Cannon Mills Company and Draymore Manufacturing in Mooresville. She took much pride in raising her children and keeping her home. Faith in God and her love for her family was very important to her.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 75 years, Howard Jacob Michael, as well as her son Richard Michael, daughter Margaret Michael , her son in law Thomas Sinclair and brother in law Joel Thompson.

Those with cherished memories include sons; James Howard Michael (Linda) of Archdale and Marshall Clinton Michael (LouAnn), of Lexington, and daughters ; Martha N. Michael of China Grove and Geneva Sinclair of Salisbury. Also surviving her are her sister Coleen Henley Thompson, her brother Carlee J. Henley, her 9 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren and several great great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be on Tuesday, January 17, 2023 at 2:00 pm at Landis Baptist Church, with Pastor Mike Austin, officiating. Burial will follow at West Lawn Memorial Park.
