Peter Alonzo Honeycutt

Mr. Peter Alonzo " Lon" Honeycutt, 95 of Salisbury passed away on Tuesday December 11, 2012 at Liberty Commons Nursing Home. Born on October 25, 1917 in Gaston County, he was the son of the late Charles B. and Louise Barker Honeycutt. Mr. Honeycutt was a graduate of Cornelius High School. He was a longtime member of Grace Lutheran Church, where he was a member of the property committee and church council. Later he attended Pine Ridge Baptist Church. Mr. Honeycutt retired in 1983 from Linn Corriher Mills where he was the shop foreman.

He loved everyone and particularly his family. Mr Honeycutt was preceded in death by his first wife, Lucille Morgan Honeycutt on November 20, 1989 and later by Maenell Honeycutt on October 26, 2010. In addition to them he was preceded in death by 5 brothers and 3 sisters. Those left to cherish his memory are his daughters, Elaine Puckett (Jerry) of Iron Station and Libby Coggins (Jay) of China Grove, Janet Wilhlem (John) of Lake City, Ga. and son Wayne Moose (Dolly) of Mt. Ulla. He is also survived by 8 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren and 4 great great grandchildren.

Visitation will be on Friday from 1:00 til 2:00 at Grace Lutheran Church with funeral at 2:00 also at the church, with burial at the church cemetery on Monday at 2:00. The family would like to thank the staff of Liberty Commons, Dr. Robert Barnabei and Bebbie Barnhardt for the care and love they showed their loved one during his illness.
