Ronald Wayne Spears

Ronald Wayne Spears, age 80, of Landis, North Carolina passed away on Monday, March 7, 2022. Ronnie was born on March 19, 1941 in Rowan County and was the son of the late Dallas Spears and Sylvia Cook Spears. Ronnie grew up in Landis and worked for Linn Corriher Mills for 30 years before going on to retire from Phillip Morris where he worked for 17 1/2 years. He was a real volunteer during his life, having retired from the Landis Fire Department where he was a fire chief. He was a member of Landis Baptist Church.

Ronnie was survived by his wife of 52 years, Delma "Penny" Helms Spears. Also surviving him is his daughter Ginger McDonald (Mick) and brother Bobby Cook and sister Carol Honeycutt. He is also survived by his granddaughter Molly McDonald.

A visitation for Ronald will be held Monday, March 14, 2022 from 2:00 PM to 2:45 PM at Linn Honeycutt Funeral Home, 1420 N.Main St, China Grove, NC. Following the visitation will be a graveside service at 3:00 PM at West Lawn Memorial Park, 1350 S. Main St, China Grove, NC.
