Ruth Evelyn Goodman

Mrs. Ruth "Evelyn" Faggart Goodman 82 of China Grove, passed away on Sunday November 10, 2013 at Kiser Hospice House in Salisbury. Born on May 4, 1931 in Cabarrus County, she was the daughter of the late Charles J. and Ruth Blackwelder Faggart. A graduate of Odell High School, she was a longtime member of Mt. Moriah Lutheran Church, where she was a member of WELCA and the Altar Guild. She was a homemaker and helped her husband with the family business; Goodman Farm Supply. She loved growing roses and collecting angels. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, John Elmer Goodman in 2010, her grandson Jonathan Efird and her brother Gene Faggart. Those left to cherish her memory are her daughters; Rebecca "Becky" G.Wright (Jim), Kay G. Efird (Dennis) and Wanda G. Johnson (Bret) all of China Grove. Also surviving her are brothers Ray Faggart (Peggy) and Archie Faggart (Dot) both of Concord. Grandchildren include, Kevin Wright (Jayme), Jennifer Wright Henley (Justin), Kristen Wright Broome(Adam), Angela Efird Nance (Josh), Morgan Johnson and Blake Johnson. She also had 8 great granddaughters and was awaiting the birth of 2 great grandsons.

Visitation will be on Monday from 6:00 til 8:00 at Linn Honeycutt Funeral Home in China Grove, with funeral service on Tuesday at 3:00 at Mt. Moriah Lutheran Church with Rev. Joseph Tallent, minister. Burial will follow at the church cemetery. Memorials may be made to Mt. Moriah Lutheran Church, 750 Mt. Moriah Church Rd. China Grove, NC 28023
