

He started as a Certified Master Tailor at the age of 16. Upon the death of his own father, he took over as the owner and Master Tailor of the only Tailoring shop in the town of Igbaras, called “Milfa's Tailoring”.
He sent himself to high school and college through his earnings as a tailor.
He was a retired school District Supervisor of the Department of Education School Division of Iloilo Philippines. Most of his 38 years of service in the Department was spent leading and nurturing teachers at different school levels be it elementary, secondary, or technical education. He earned a Doctorate Degree in Education (PhD) from the University of Iloilo.
His passion for learning and nurturing continued even after retirement and settled in California. He frequented the library to read and write books about his experiences as a District Supervisor.
He loved to dance, do Taichi, Zumba and gym exercises.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 55 years Connie, his children Amy (Edgar) F. Lahip, Dr. Elizabeth Joy (Gerald) Famatid-Golez , and Allen Paul (Marsha) D. Famatid, his grandchildren Ethan, Emily, Bea, Dwayne, Kimi, Yuno, Keihl, and Kody, his brothers Rene E. Famatid and Nicholas (Patricia) E. Famatid.
He lived and taught the values of hard work, persistence, honesty, religiousness, generosity and family first policy.
Emilio will be missed, but he will not be forgotten as long as we live.
A visitation will be held on December 18, 2025, from 3:30 pm to 7:30 pm at Funeraria Del Angel Chino, located at 13002 S. Central Ave., Chino, CA 91710.
The Funeral Mass will take place on December 19, 2025, at 10:30 am at St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church, situated at 14085 Peyton Dr., Chino Hills, CA 91710.
