Esther Gomez

On Wednesday, March 1, 2023, Esther H. Gomez, loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother passed away at the age of 72. She was loved dearly and surrounded by her family until the very end. Esther was born December 18, 1950 in Guadalajara, Jalisco to Macario Hernandez Ramirez and Dolores Alvarado who have preceded her in death. Her sister Rosario H. Flores and her brothers Ramon Alvarado and Salvador Alvarado also preceded her in death. She immigrated to the United States as a young girl and lived her remaining life in Southern California. On December 16, 1972, she married Juan B. Gomez. They raised three sons and two daughters. Esther is survived by her husband Juan B. Gomez and her children Patricia Cavazos, John A. Gomez, Miguel A. Gomez, Eduardo J. Gomez, Vanessa L. Gomez. She was a beloved “Nana” to 13 grandchildren and 11 great grand kids with an additional great grandbaby on the way. She is also survived by 4 siblings: Mario Hernandez, Isabel Castillo, Maria R. Silva, Maria Elena Pulido. Anyone who knew our beloved “Nana’ knew her greatest love was her family. She adored her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Esther was the rock and center point of our family and always made sure that her loved ones were taken care of. Despite her large family “Nana” always made time to express her love and support to each and every one of us. We will forever remember her closing line after every call, “Te quiero mucho, I love you, y que Dios te bendiga,..” Our beloved “Nana” will be greatly missed.

A Celebration of life visitation will be held on Sunday, March 26, 2023 from 2:00 pm- 6:00 pm at Funeraria Del Angel Chino located at 13002 South Central Ave., Chino, CA 91710. Please join the family to share memories and thoughts.

A Celebration of Life service will be held Monday March 27, 2023 at 11:00 am at Water of Life Community Church Chapel located at 7625 East Ave, Fontana, CA 92336. To honor her we ask that you wear a piece of garment in her favorite color, purple.
