Joann H Arena

Joann Helen Arena, 86, of Chino passed away May 17, 2014 in Chino, CA. She was born on December 27, 1927 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. She was a Chino resident for 24 years, and previously resided in Whittier for 20 years. She was self-employed as an insurance agent, and was very active in the community. She was involved with adult public schools throughout CA for arts and crafts. She was a member of St. Margaret Mary R.C. Church in Chino, The Soroptimists, a Charter member of Whittier Historical Society. Joann was also involved in the Historical Society of Pico Rivera and The Pico Rivera Chamber, the Life underwriters, and was also a member of The Whittier Chamber of Commerce. Joann is survived by her husband of 59 years Dr. Carmelo Richard Arena, Ph.D., daughter Rose Anne Arena Abalos , son Richard Michael Arena, and 2 grandchildren. Visitation will be held, from 5-8p.m. with rosary at 7:00p.m., Tuesday May 27, 2014 at Funeraria Del Angel Pierce Bros. Griffith on 13002 S. Central Ave. Chino, Ca 91710. Funeral mass will be held 10:00a.m. Wednesday, May 28, 2014 at St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church on 12688 Central Ave. Chino,Ca 91710. Interment will follow, 12:30p.m. at Riverside National Cemetery.
