Lois Lobo, Born on August 9, 1940 to Henry and Rose Lobo, she was brought home to her house in Chino and never left. Lois devoted her life to working with children. She began as a preschool teacher at the Church Among the Oaks Day Nursery School in Montclair, California. In 1980, Lois was hired by the Head Start Program of San Bernardino County as a preschool teacher. She was quickly promoted to a Site Supervisor and finished her career with Head Start as an Area Coordinator supervising schools in Chino, Ontario, Upland, Fontana, Rialto, Colton, and San Bernardino. In 1973, Lois gave birth to her son Brian Sr., and in 1994, she became the very proud grandmother of Brian Jr.. She would go on to write in her journals that these two were the greatest joys of her life. In 2005, she retired to take care of her mother Rose.
Lois was a devout member of the Latin American Free Methodist Church and could be found on Sunday mornings playing the tambourine during worship. She loved to read romance novels and there wasn’t a complex puzzle she couldn’t put together. Her nieces and nephews often fought over her infamous “Green Cake” and chocolate chip cookies. She was the gatekeeper of Grandma Rosey’s tamale recipe and we are still convinced she purposely forgot to tell us about a secret ingredient. Her bear hugs could stop any tear and her rhythm and dance moves were unmatched.
Despite consistently battling and winning a several decades long battle with her health, Lois was called to her final home and entered the gates of Heaven on Friday, June 28, 2024 at 7:50 am. She was surrounded by her loving family. Lois was preceded in death by her mother and father Rose and Henry Lobo Sr. (Chino), and her sister Della Campos (Chino). She is survived by her son Brian Lobo Sr.(Chino), her grandson Brian Lobo Jr.(Chino), sister Lorraine Estrada (Chino), brother and sister in law Henry Jr. and Maria Lobo (Oxnard), daughter-in-law Nicole Lobo (LaVerne), 7 nieces and nephews, 8 great nieces and nephews, and her 3 great-great nieces and nephews.
A viewing will be held at Funeraria del Angel Chino on July 25, 2024 from 5-8pm. Services will be held at Funeraria del Angel Chino on July 26, 2024 at 1030am, followed by a burial at Pomona Cemetery.
