Lurdes Maria Nunes

Lurdes Maria Nunes, 81, passed away on October 30, 2017 at Chino Valley Medical Center. She was born March 18, 1936 in Terceira, Azores, Portugal and lived in Chino, California for 50 years. Maria loved her family and devoted her life to caring for them. Maria was a parishioner of St. Margaret’s Church for over 45 years. She was a member of the Portuguese Chino DES Hall. Maria was a very kindhearted, loving woman who would always help others without asking any questions. She loved flowers, crocheting, and going for walks.

Maria is survived by her children John Nunes Jr, Frank Nunes, Rosemary Hardy and Darlene Kanavalov. Daughter and Son in law Barbara Nunes and Robert Hardy Jr. Grandchildren Robert Nunes, Jana Stump, Brittany Obermoeller, Jessica Haus, Brooke Wolfswinkel, Emma Nunes, Robert Hardy, Isabel Hardy, Richard Kanavalov, Alyssa Kanavalov and Cierra Nunes. Great grandchildren Damien Nunes, Kayla Nunes, Bryson Stump, Logan Stump, Kayleb Haus and Kylee Haus. She is preceded in death by her beloved husband John in 2009.

Visitation hours will be 12 pm to 4 pm, Sunday, November 5, 2017 at Funeraria del Angel Chino with rosary at 3 pm. A funeral mass will be celebrated 1 pm, Monday, November 6, 2017 at St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church in Chino. Interment will follow at Bellevue Memorial Park in Ontario.
