Charles Winford Garner

Charles Winford Garner was born on April 27, 1927 in Stella, Missouri and passed away peacefully on July 1, 2023 in Merced, California at the age of 96. He was a resident of Chowchilla, California for 49 years and a resident of Alexandria, Indiana for 29 years.

Charles was a man of faith his entire life and embraced the lord with a full heart.

Charles was an avid traveler and visited several states throughout his lifetime. Mexico was also a favorite vacation spot.

Charles was a veteran of the Korean war and was stationed in Korea in 1945.

Charles is preceded in death by his parents George and Ollie Garner, wife Nancy Garner, sisters Elizabeth Sutton, Leola Mason, Ruth Smith and brother Herman Garner.

He is survived by his daughters, Orlena Belser, Charlotte McDonell (Tim), Mary Fears (Waymon-Deceased), Liz Wiederhold (Dan), Pam Loveall (Vince). Grandchildren Debbie Coelho (Tim), Chuck Woods (Jennifer), Joe Alford (Autumn), Josh Fears (Nichole), Jed Barnes, Robby Wiederhold (Shirley), Anne Holtzclaw, Ashley Miller (Aaron), Shane Hill (Tiffany), and Adam Fears as well as 16 Great Grandchildren. He also leaves behind several nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held Friday, July 14, 2023 at 10:00 AM at the Chowchilla Cemetery.
