Harry Duane Bennett

July 24, 1935 – August 15, 2022

Duane passed away on Monday, August 15, 2022 in Fresno, California, at the age of 87. He was born in Sharon, California outside of Chowchilla on July 24, 1935 to Harry and Lillian Bennett.

Duane lived in Fresno, California where he worked as an agricultural appraiser for Security Bank and then Bank of America for 40 plus years. In his spare time, he enjoyed raising cattle, riding horses and spending time with his family.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Harry and Lillian Bennett; a sister, Lucile Watson; an infant brother, Frances Lee Bennett; his brother, Dale Bennett; and a step-son, Michael Pierson.

Duane is survived by his wife Mary Lou Bennett of Fresno; his son and wife, Rick and Donna Bennett of Chowchilla; his son, David Bennett of Clovis; a step-daughter and her husband, Melinda and Richard Waugh of Nipomo; a step-daughter and her husband, Marcia and Mike Bane of Fresno; a brother and his wife, Eugene and Catherine Bennett of Visalia; a "brother-in-law", Merlin Watson of Chowchilla.

He is also survived by his grandchildren, Christina Alarcon, Erin Ballard, Kelli Larsen, Amanda Bennett, Everrett “Evy” Bennett, Brian Taylor, Ben Taylor, Britney Mehling, Justin Bane and numerous great-grandchildren.

The family would like to thank the staff at Calimyrna Assisted Living for their care of Duane for the past year and a half.

A Service will be held at Palm Memorial-Worden Chapel,140 S 6th Street, Chowchilla, Ca. 93610, on Monday August 29, 2022, at 10:00 a.m. Donations to your favorite charity are welcomed.
