Howard Matthew Reeser (June) passed peacefully on Sunday, October 29, 2023 at home with his loving wife, Shirley, by his side. June was an exceptional mechanic and was known for his expertise on GM vehicles, and his love of Chevy’s. He started working on cars at age 14, and later moved onto racing. It was definitely a family affair, as you could find every Reeser family member at KC Raceway/Atomic every Saturday night for over 15 years. June was very passionate about his family and his love of rabbits.
June leaves behind his wife of 44 years, Shirley Ann; his son John (Jackie); daughters, Rhonda Damron Romine, and Katrina (Jerry) Hemming; brothers, George (Peggy), and Joe (Holly); sisters, Mary Ann Hall, and Brandy (Scott) Mullins; grandchildren, Cortney (Michael Reed) Hemming, Daniel Hemming, Taylor (Seth) VanGundy, Lauren (Joey) Dodson, Jenna Reeser; and great-grandchildren, Brooklyn & Hensley VanGundy and Maverik Reed; along with many other loving relatives and friends.
June was a great caregiver for his Mother, Wilma Jean (Montgomery) and Father, Howard William, who preceded him in death.
The funeral service will be held at Defenbaugh Wise Schoedinger Funeral Home, 151 E. Main St in Circleville at 1pm Thursday, November 2. Friends and family may visit from 11am-1pm before the funeral. Pastor Keith Deel will be officiating with burial at Hitler Ludwig Cemetery to follow. In lieu of flowers, please make donations in June’s name to Berger Hospital Hospice.
