Bernie E. Phillips

Bernie was born November 30, 1937 at Rinard, IL to Elvin and Violet (Evans) Phillips. He married Georgia Ann Laughlin September 27, 1997 at Flora, IL.

Bernie was a carpenter and former butcher at A & P in Flora, IL.

Bernie is survived by his wife Ann Phillips of Rinard, IL; two daughters Amy (Mike Skaer) Phillips of Madison, Wisconsin and Mayola Phillips of Mt. Zion, IL; one son Doug Phillips of Louisville, IL; step-children Gary (Paula) Laughlin of Piggot AR; Ginger (Al) Monroe of Centennial, CO; and Greg (Anita) Laughlin of Goshen, IN; two sisters Betty Walker of Mattoon, IL and Joyce Carpenter of Lawson, MO; and brother Earl Phillips of Flora, IL. Five grandchildren, ten great grandchildren, and seven step grandchildren also survive.

Bernie was preceded in death by his parents and a sister Lily.

Funeral service for Bernie Phillips will be 11AM Thursday, January 2, 2014 at Hosselton Funeral Home. Burial will be in Willow Branch Cemetery. Visitation will be 5-7PM Wednesday, January 1, 2014.

Memorials may be given to Alzheimer’s Association and will be accepted at the funeral home.
