Catherine L. Felix Dickey

Catherine was born August 8, 1927, in Barnhill, IL to George and Ethel (Medler) Felix. She married Kenneth E. Dickey on April 2, 1949 at Cisne, IL. Kenneth died May 18, 2011.

Catherine was also preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Marjorie Harding and Doris Gregory, one brother, Dale Felix, and one daughter-in-law, Karen Dickey.

Survivors include one daughter Kathy Coyle (& her husband Daniel) of Lacon, IL; two sons Michael Dickey of Titusville, FL and Bruce Dickey (& his wife Robbin) of Flora, IL; seven grandchildren Kerri Jo Malechuk, Ryan Dickey and J.D. Dickey all of Titusville, FL; Katie Horton (& her husband Brian) of Washington, IL; Emily Coyle of Seattle, WA; Sara Kasper (& her husband Tom) of St. Peters, MO; and Colin Dickey (& his wife Larissa) of Chicago, IL. Also surviving are 14 great grandchildren. She is also survived by two sisters Dorothy Merrill, Mesa, AZ; Betty (Jim) Vanek, Grantsburg, WI; two brothers Harold (Pat) Felix, Kentland, IN; Russell (Lisa) Felix, Fairfield, IL; and a sister-in-law Emmadean Felix, Barnhill, IL and several nieces and nephews.

Catherine graduated from Fairfield Community High School, was a licensed beautician, worked at the International Shoe Factory, and was a loving homemaker. Catherine enjoyed quilting, crocheting, aerobics, gardening and traveling with her husband. She was an excellent cook and loved to fish. She and her husband were avid St. Louis Cardinal Fans. She especially enjoyed meeting her Wednesday morning friends for coffee. She was a member of the First Christian Church in Flora, IL and was a 35 year breast cancer survivor.

Funeral services for Catherine Dickey will be 10:30 a.m. Monday, September 19, 2011 at Hosselton Funeral Home in Cisne. Burial will be in Cisne Cemetery. Friends may call from 5-7 pm Sunday, September 18, 2011 at the funeral home.

Memorials in memory of Catherine Dickey may be given to the Flora First Christian Church, Flora Volunteer Fire Department and Clay County Cancer Support Group and will be accepted at Hosselton Funeral Home.
