Darell G. Sherman

Darell was born July 10, 1934 at El Reno, OK to Melvin and Vernon (Daniel) Sherman. He married Sue Hunt December 4, 1953 at Fairfield, IL and she survives.

He worked as a Sales Engineer, District Manager, Logging Engineer and Log Interpreting for Welex, Birdwell, then Gulf Coast Exploration. Darell was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Olney, Society of Petroleum Engineers, Illinois Oil and Gas Association, and Illinois Geological Society. Darell loved to fish, camp and travel. His greatest joy was spending time with family and friends. He was extremely proud of his grandchildren and great grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife Sue Sherman of Olney, IL; three daughters Vicki Marshall (& her husband Kent) of Mt. Clemens, MI; Terri Combs (& her husband Doug) and Kathy Martin (& her husband George) both of Olney, IL; two sisters Dorothy Wooden (& her husband Lowell) of CA and Katherine Johnson (& her husband James) of Tucson, AZ; two brothers Lloyd Sherman (& his wife Mayme) of Olney, IL and Alfred Sherman (& his wife Malu) of CA. Also surviving are eight grandchildren Kim Range of Olney, IL, Ryan (& his wife Emily) Combs of Bridgeport, IL, Eric Combs (& his wife Jamie) of Olney, IL, Jennifer Burnette (& her husband Brian) of Chesterfield, MI, Kristoffer Marshall and Jeffrey Marshall both of Warren, MI, Lindsey Martin and Chad Martin both of Olney, IL; 8 great grandchildren and expecting a great grandchild in December.

Preceding him in death were his parents and one brother Melvin.

Memorial services for Darell Sherman will be 10:30AM Saturday, November 5, 2011 at Hosselton Funeral Home in Cisne, IL. Burial will be at Cisne Cemetery.

Memorials may be given to the donor’s choice and will be accepted at Hosselton Funeral Home.
