Ellen Marguerite Sparr

Ellen was born December 30, 1923 at Clay City, IL to William Tilford and Ada (Coulter) Brummet. She first married Raleigh Edwin Laird January 9, 1940 at Henderson, KY. She later married Fred Sparr August, 1965 at Flora, IL and he preceded her in death

Ellen was a housewife and a member of Zip Baptist Church near Clay City, IL.

Ellen is survived by two daughters Shirley (Fred) Shelton of Clay City, IL and Peggy (David) Loehr of Newburgh, IN; two sons Larry (Jenny) Laird of Chebanse, IL and Jerry (Cecilia) Laird of Copperhill, TN and one step son William Lowell Sparr of Cisne, IL. Also surviving are seventeen grandchildren, eighteen great grandchildren and four great-great grandchildren.

Preceding her in death were her husband’s Fred and Raleigh, son Kirby Joe, parents, sister Naomi Fildes, brothers Tilford and Woodrow Brummett; step daughters Rosie Bolen and Anna Mae Holmes and half brothers Hobbert, Eli and Raymond Hubble.

Graveside services for Ellen Sparr will be 11AM Friday, Oct. 25, 2013 at Laird Cemetery near Cisne, IL. There will be no visitation.

Memorials may be made to Clay County Hospice and will be accepted at Hosselton Funeral Home.
