Harold Dean Allen

Harold was born October 21, 1939 in Orchardville, Illinois to Roy and Luna (Slover) Allen. He married Maryann Holleman December 3, 1960 in Orchardville, Illinois and she survives.

Harold was a union carpenter with local 634 and had been a volunteer firefighter for the Orchardville Fire Department.

Harold is survived by his wife Maryann Allen of Xenia, Illinois; two daughters Kelli (Kelly) Preiss and Staci (LaMar) Choate both of Wayne City, Illinois; four granddaughters Lindsey (Tony) Fehrenbacher of Xenia, Illinois, Taylor (Joshua) Larrison of Mt. Zion, Illinois, Marli and Cecilia Choate of Wayne City, Illinois; three great grandchildren Caleb, Libby and Abigail; two sisters Wanda (Jim) Spears of Flora, Illinois and Teresa (Mike) Creighton of Wayne City, Illinois and one brother Glen (Judy) Allen of Orchardville, Illinois; mother-in-law Alice Fatheree of Mt. Vernon, Illinois; one uncle Dorris (Patsy) Slover of Orchardville, Illinois and several cousins, nieces and nephews.

Preceding him in death were his parents; one brother-in-law; and his father-in-law, Dale Holleman.

Per Harold’s wishes, cremation rites have been accorded.

A Celebration of Life service will be held at the Poplar Creek Community of Christ Church in Orchardville on Saturday, November 26, 2016. Condolences starting at 10:00am with services following at 11:00am.
