

James was born March 1, 1932 at Jackson, TN to Dolphus David and Mamie Alberta (Waller) Scallions. He married Patricia Williamson September 21, 1961 at Granite City, IL.
James was a retired Master Sergeant for the U. S. Army and retired as a postal carrier for U. S. Post Office after twenty-one years. He retired after twenty-one years with the U. S. Army having served in Germany two times, and also a Korean and Vietnam War veteran.
He was a member of Daleville Baptist Church in Daleville, AL and Daleville, AL VFW and a member of the National Letter Carriers Association.
James is survived by his wife Patricia Scallions of Cisne, IL, formerly of Daleville, AL; two daughters Carla (Greg) Stafford of Taylorville, IL and Renee (Tom) Sanders of Brandon, FL; three sisters Helen Rush and Jessie Holt both of Taylorville, IL and Betty (Bill) Mays of Parsons, TN. Six grandchildren, eight great grandchildren, five step grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews also survive.
Preceding him in death were three brothers George, Odell, Calvin, and two brothers at an early age; three sisters Thelma, Lucille, and Mary Ella and his parents.
A celebration of life for James Edward Scallions will be at noon on Tuesday, December 10, 2013 at Hosselton Funeral Home. Burial will be in Cisne Cemetery. Full military rites will be at the graveside. Visitation will be 10AM until the time of service on Tuesday at the funeral home.
Memorials may be given to the Wounded Warriors and will be accepted at Hosselton Funeral Home.
