Angela Lynn Sorrell

A memorial service to celebrate her life will be held 4:00 PM Saturday, May 13, 2023 in the chapel of McLaurin Funeral Home in Clayton, North Carolina with Pastor Clay Ritter officiating. Inurnment will be held privately on a later date.

The family will receive friends from 3:00 PM until 4:00 PM Saturday, May 13, 2023 at the funeral home, prior to the service.

Angela was born in Raleigh, North Carolina on February 3, 1968 to William Phillip Utley, Sr. and Sandra Thomas Aikens. Angela loved Jesus, life and people. She was charismatic and when she entered the room, everyone knew it. She was employed as a cosmetologist and had her own business for years as she raised her three boys. She did not just cut and style your hair, she loved you and ministered truth to you in the chair. Angela enjoyed spending time with her family, trips to the beach and talking with friends. She also enjoyed bible studies, Christian conferences, and singing Christian music at the top of her lungs! She was unique, strong-willed, loving, intense and always passionate!

Angela impacted many lives because she cared and believed she had a calling to touch lives. She was a devout Christian, who would tell anyone about Jesus. She was kind and compassionate and enjoyed grilling with family and friends while hosting and serving others. Her infectious energy and beautiful smile could light up any room. Angela was the best mom to her three boys and she will be greatly missed and never forgotten!

In addition to her parents, she is survived by her three sons, Chase Sorrell, Kessler Sorrell and wife Ashley, Colby Sorrell and wife Payton; grandchildren, Raelee Sorrell, Waylon Sorrell, Sadie Sorrell and Walker Sorrell; brothers and sisters, Tammy Ritter, Sharon Hunt, Sandy Gilchrist; William Utley II, and Chuck Utley.
