Ann Ruth Barbour Holmes

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, June 20, 2024, at 2:00pm in the chapel of McLaurin Funeral Home with Reverend Jim Bogle officiating. The burial will follow at Pinecrest Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM Thursday, June 20, 2024, at the funeral home, prior to the service.

Ann was born in Johnston County on March 4, 1938, to the late Judson David Barbour and Pennie Rhodes Barbour. She is survived by her husband of 66 years, Jimmie Lee Holmes; two children: Lt Col Jimmie David Holmes (Retired - Air Force) and Denise Holmes Wheeler; sister Shirley Diane Perry; three grandchildren and three great grandchildren.

Ms. Holmes was a lifelong member of Powhatan Freewill Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her sisters; Laura Corbett, Edna Todd, and brothers: Lloyd Marion (Buddy) Barbour and Judson Edward (JE) Barbour.
