

Aurora Camuto Maggio, age 83, passed away on Sunday, December 17, 2023 surrounded by her family. Aurora was born in Catania, Sicily on August 6, 1940 to the late Paul and Cecelia M. Camuto and moved to Brooklyn NY in 1955 at 15 years of age. She was a devoted wife, Mother, Grandmother and Great Grandmother. She was an accomplished seamstress and dedicated homemaker. She enjoyed cooking for her family, hosting family gatherings for Sunday dinners and holidays. What made her the happiest was spending time with her loved ones.
She is survived by her husband, Dominick Maggio; daughter, Adele Kovacs and husband, Robert; son, John Maggio and wife, Julie Maggio; grandchildren, Kristi Kovacs, Ryan Kovacs, Matthew Maggio and Megan Maggio; great grandchildren, Rhowan Greenwood and Aubree Greenwood; sisters, Maria Camuto and Connie Dispinziere and a brother, Joe Camuto.
A funeral mass to celebrate her life will be held on Thursday, December 21, 2023 at 11:00am in the chapel of McLaurin Funeral Home with the family receiving friends one hour prior to the service starting at 10:00 am. The interment will follow the services at Pinecrest Memorial Park in Clayton.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Aurora’s name may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association 225 N. Michigan Ave., Fl. 17, Chicago, IL 60601 (www.act.alz.org).
