Billy Clinton Garner

Mr. Billy Clinton Garner, 76, of Garner passed away Saturday, July 23, 2016 at Rex Hospital in Raleigh with his family by his side. He was born May 6, 1940 in Johnston County, son of the late Troy Clinton Garner and Etta Leona Braswell Garner. He was also preceded in death by a brother, Melvin “Dick” Price and a sister, Faye Shearin.

Mr. Garner was a US Air Force veteran and retired from the Department of Public Instruction with the state of North Carolina. He was a member of the GWRRA Club. He was a loving husband, father, and Papa and loved flying and riding his Honda Goldwing.

A funeral service will be held Thursday, July 28th at 11:00 A.M. in the McLaurin Funeral Home chapel with Pastor Ron Byrd and Pastor Alex Poindexter officiating. Burial will follow in Pinecrest Memorial Park.

He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Ella F. Garner, two daughters, Rebecca Garner White and husband Joe of Swansboro and Kathy Garner Dale of Clayton, three grandchildren, Will Blackmon of Clayton, Amber Dale of Benson, and Betsy Dale of Clayton, two great grandchildren, Piper and Lucas Johnson both of Benson, and many other special family members and friends.

The family will receive friends Wednesday, July 27th from 6:00 – 8:00 P.M. at McLaurin Funeral Home in Clayton and other times at the home, 204 Lane of Sir Lancelot, Garner, NC.
