Enlisting in the United States Navy at the age of 18 determined Bruce's travel itinerary over the next several years. Assigned to a naval ship in the Mediterranean Sea in 1969, was just the beginning of his world travels. Throughout Bruce's 20 years of service, his assignments took him to Argentina, New Found land; Keflavik, Iceland; Norfolk, VA; and Cape Hatteras, NC. Bruce retired from the United States Naval Reserves as a Chief Petty Officer and settled down in North Carolina, where he continued his career in electronics as a computer specialist for Alcatel. Throughout retirement, Bruce enjoyed spending the winters with his snowbird friends in Myrtle Beach, SC and visiting his family every chance he could.
A private graveside service will be held at Pinecrest Memorial Park Cemetery in Garner, NC. If you knew Bruce on a personal level, take a moment to remember a special memory you shared with this amazing man.
