CLAYTON – Cartie A. Barefoot, age 80, passed away on Saturday, October 23, 2021 at his residence with his family by his side.
Funeral services for Mr. Barefoot will be held 11:00 am Wednesday, October 27, 2021 in the chapel of McLaurin Funeral Home with Pastor David Sutphin and Pastor Brandon Miller officiating. Burial will follow at Pinecrest Memorial Park. The family will receive friends Wednesday, October 27, 2021 from 10:00 am until 11:00 am at the funeral home prior to the service.
He was born in Harnett County on September 24, 1941 to the late Eric Floyd Barefoot and the late Effie Bradley Barefoot. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by sister Dorothy Allen.
He was a mechanic who enjoyed restoring cars, helping others and attending Faith Community Church, as well as going on trips to Gatlinburg.
He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Mary Jernigan Barefoot; children, Kenneth Barefoot (Karen) and Carla Jones (Mike); five grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren; brothers and sisters, Robert Barefoot, Maylee Harris and Carolyn Hudson.
