Charles DeVan Morgan

Charles was born in Clayton, NC to Dewey and Bessie Conner Morgan on May 16, 1930. He graduated from Clayton High School. He married Peggy Turner on August 12, 1978 in Clayton.

He worked in textiles and in office/warehouse management. He served in the Army and was a veteran of the Korean War.

He was involved as a Scout Master in the Boy Scouts and was a life time member of First Baptist Church of Clayton.

Charles is survived by his wife, Peggy Turner Morgan; sons Charles (Chuck) Morgan and wife, Debbie; Jack Morgan and wife, Cindy; daughter Melanie Dupree Policke and husband, Timothy; sisters Ruth Morgan Lynch, Duba Morgan Coats and husband, George (Bucky) Coats; grandchildren Tyler Morgan and wife Becky, Nathan Morgan, Stephen Policke, Briana Morgan, Rachel Policke, Kaylee Morgan; and 2 great-granddaughters with another on the way.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be given to First Baptist Church of Clayton.

The family of Charles Morgan wishes to extend our sincere thanks to the First Baptist church family and to SECU Hospice House.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday June 24 at 3pm at First Baptist Church, 411 N. Fayetteville St. Clayton, NC 27520, with Dr. Mark White officiating.
