

He was born on October 12, 1934 to the late Raymond Van Bridges and Beatrice Pleasants Bridges in Franklin County, North Carolina. Clarence was a carpenter by trade and retired from Clancey & Theys Construction Company after many years at the age of 65. He had a love of RV camping and traveled to many North Carolina sites with his truck and RV.
Clarence is survived by his son, Wayne Bridges of Wake Forest, NC and daughter Teresa Chicarelli, (Vince) of Clayton, NC; and his special niece Brenda Capps who was his sidekick companion. He is preceded in death by his son Ray Bridges of Durham, NC. He is also survived by his sisters Addie Jordan (P.C.) and Gwen Dupree , sister-in-law Evelyn Bridges along with many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents and son, Clarence is preceded in death by his wife Mary Bridges, sisters and brothers, Doris Hilliard, Frances Penny, Jay Bridges and Pete Bridges.

Visitation will be Wednesday, November 8, 2023 from 7:00 pm until 9:00pm at McLaurin Funeral Home, Clayton, North Carolina with an 11:00 am graveside service Thursday, November 9, 2023 located at Oak Grove Cemetery, Durham, North Carolina.
