Elenore Fleming Blalock, 81, passed away peacefully at her home on Tuesday, June 19, 2018, surrounded by her three daughters. She was born in Gary, Indiana to the late Harold and Josephine Fleming. She was preceded in death by her husband, John Linford Blalock. She was a longstanding member of First Baptist Church of Clayton. Elenore enjoyed cooking for her family and church community. She was well known for her Sunday Nana lunches. She loved jigsaw and crossword puzzles, sewing, reading, and spending time with her family.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her brother, Richard Fleming. Elenore is survived by her loving daughters, Laura Jones (Dan), Nancy House (Clay), and Michelle Blalock; grandchildren, Brittany, Daniel, Kelli; brothers, Doug Fleming and Larry Fleming.
A graveside service will be held at Maplewood Cemetery on Saturday, June 23, 2018 at 10:00 am. In lieu of flowers she requested donations could be made to the Senior Adult Fund at First Baptist Church, PO Box 35, Clayton, NC 27528-0035 or to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital Donations, PO Box 1000, Dept. 142, Memphis, TN 38148-0142.
