Ellen Myrtle Hainsworth

She was 96 years old, born May 31, 1925 in Washington, DC. She lived an active and happy life with “her” Bill...their 3 girls; Becky, Bonny, Barby; 7 grandkids; 19 great grandkids...and 2 beautiful great, great granddaughters. The family was large, welcoming all spouses, kids, bonus kids, grandkids and friends at their holiday gatherings.

She met Bill roller skating and got married in 1945. They danced well into their 80s. Bill passed away at age 82. Nana loved to visit with her friends, do needlepoint, crafts, puzzles, play cards and just enjoyed staying busy. Nana actively served her churches, worked at the family golf course in Washington, DC, and was the school secretary at Crofton (MD) Elementary School.

For the last 13 years, Barby and Ray have been devoted to Nana. She has lived with them and we say thank you and send big hugs. Thank you also to all who played a role in her life.

In lieu of flowers, gifts can be made to Community United Methodist Church, 1690 Riedel Road, Crofton, MD 21114.

A Celebration of Ellen’s life will be Saturday, March 12, 2022 at 1 PM at The Shepherd’s Church (previously Colonial Baptist) 6051 Tryon Road, Cary, NC 27518.
