Evelyn Price Shipp

Evelyn Price Shipp, the daughter of the late Major and Sula Price, passed away Thursday, January 5, 2017 at the age of 90. The funeral service will be conducted at 2:00pm Wednesday in the chapel of McLaurin Funeral Home with Rev. Ashley Summerlin officiating. Interment will follow at Montlawn Memorial Park. Mrs. Shipp grew up on a farm in Faison, NC. She joined the US Army Cadet Nurse Corps and attended James Walker Memorial Hospital School of Nursing where she graduated with her R.N. in 1948. Her nursing career included working at UNC-Chapel Hill, Johnston Memorial and Rex Hospitals She is survived by her daughters; Susan Shipp, Jan Wallace and her husband Mike, Kim Digh and her husband Eddie and Cathy Boyette and her Husband Harold all of Clayton, grandchildren; Heather Padgett and husband Will of Raleigh, David Brown and wife Jessica of Garner, Scott Boyette and wife Jaclyn of Murrells Inlet, SC, Leslie Lucia of Clayton, great grandchildren; Ava Boyette and Catherine Lucia, sisters; Esther Price and Grace Lancaster and husband Jud of Garner, brother; Dennis Price and wife Patricia of Virginia, numerous nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her husband; Fred D. Shipp and a granddaughter Catherine Nicole Boyette.
