It was my great joy to meet and work with Frank, someone who was always positive, someone you enjoyed being around.  He is sorely missed not only as a colleague, but as a kind friend.

To those who knew and loved him,

It is with a heart both heavy with grief and full of gratitude that I write these words in memory of my brother. He was a warrior, a protector, a friend, and a light in the lives of so many.

For ten years, he served as a Navy Sailor, a role that only the strongest, most dedicated souls are called to. He wore his uniform with pride, not for recognition, but because he believed in something greater than himself. He was always the first to step forward, the first to lend a hand, the first to put others before his own needs. His bravery went beyond the battlefield. It was in how he loved, how he gave, and how he lived.

On the outside, he looked every bit the tough, unshakable man the world imagined a Navy Sailor to be. But those of us lucky enough to truly know him saw something deeper; a kind, gentle soul with a heart full of compassion. He had a way of making people feel seen and heard. He could lift spirits with just a joke or a smile; his humor was his quiet superpower. No matter the circumstance, he found a way to bring warmth into the room.

He never sought praise, but he deserved it more than anyone. He taught me and so many others what it means to be resilient, selfless, and real. He reminded us that strength isn’t just in muscle or medals; it’s in kindness, in humility, and in the quiet choices we make to care for others.

Though he's no longer with us in body, his spirit lives on in every life he touched. I will carry his love in my heart, his courage in my soul, and his memory in every step forward I take. The world was better with him in it and I am blessed for having had him as my brother.

Thank you for everything you gave; your service, your love, your light. You are forever my hero, and always my brother.

Frank was a special fella! He was always so helpful and made sure things were done right!  I enjoyed working with him and will miss him.

We were saddened to learn about the passing of Frank. We were neighbors and found him to be a good neighbor. We extend our condolences to Frank’s family and we will miss him. 

We know that weeping may endure for a night but joy comes in the morning.

Frank was very down to earth, I worked with him for many years, was one of the few that could convert the weather to Celsius in a flash, always credited that talent to his Navy days. Then the stories of flying in fresh lobster from Maine every year and his longing to go back to Crete one day.

My deepest condolences to Frank’s family and friends.  I had the great opportunity of working very closely with Frank for a number of years  and always loved his sense of humor  He will be greatly missed by all of his colleagues at Alphanumeric.  Rest in peace my friend.

I'm a colleague from Alphanumeric and based in Pennsylvania, so only met Frank once in person, but we worked on many projects together.  Aside from being a great employee, he was a great person.  We met every week and once business was over, we'd talk baseball.  My love for the Phillies and his for the Braves.  I'll miss those chats.

I am deeply saddened by the passing of our manager. They were an excellent leader and mentor, and their guidance will always be remembered. My heartfelt condolences to their family. May his soul rest in peace.

My prayers and condolences to the family.

I have so many fond memories of Frank. He was my husband and confidant for a period of time that I will always think fondly about. Frank had a way of just understanding and accepting people, and he definitely understood me. He was a wonderful caretaker, and husband, who always tried his best to provide for me. He always put my needs and other's needs before his own, and had an innate altruistic nature. Frank was a military man with a tough exterior, but underneath it all he had a very gentle soul, and that's what I will always treasure and love most about him.  My thoughts and deepest condolences are with his family at this time.

To the family members of Frank Fuller Cates II, sincere condolences.  May you find comfort in knowing that our heavenly father has purposed a resurrection for our beloved family members, including Frank.   John 5:28, 29.   Upon his resurrection, peace will be the order of the day - wars will be no more.  Frank will not have to worry about representing any nation in war, as all nations on earth will be at peace with one another.   What a day that will be.   So once again, sincere condolences.
