RALEIGH - Gina Louise DiBona Wilson, 53 years of age, passed on Monday, October 4th, 2021, at Wake Med Cary Hospital from the fallout of COVID-19.
A memorial service to celebrate Gina's life will be held 2:00 PM Wednesday, October 13, 2021 in the chapel of McLaurin Funeral Home with Pastor David Sutphin officiating. The family will be receiving friends at the funeral home immediately following the service.
Gina Wilson was born on June 28, 1968, in Folcroft, Pennsylvania, to Charles and to the late Raffeala DiBona. From the early ages of life, she had a nack of caring for others. You could say she was the rock to any relationship. She enjoyed the little things in life, even when times were rough. In her spare time, she loved shopping, music, family, and most of all, her phone. She considered her phone a lifeline to stay connected with people she held dear. She celebrated every opportunity with her grandkids as they brought joy and meaning to her life. She was a well accomplished, extraordinary woman who lived life to the fullest.
Sadly, Gina Wilson was taken too soon and has put sadness in our hearts. Words could not describe how incredible of a woman and mother she truly was. As George Eliot would say, "Our Dead are never dead to us, until we have forgotten them." Unfortunately, we all die. The goal isn't to live forever; the goal is to create something that will. And wherever death has taken her, she will thrive as she did in life.
Gina is survived by her father Charles DiBona, her sister Andrea Lopresti, her brothers Nicholas DiBona and Charles DiBona, her daughters Gina Wilson, Amanda Rokicka, Katelyn Wilson, Alexis Wilson, her sons Frank Wilson and Andrew Wilson, her grandkids Jordan Harris, Gabriel Rokicka, and Tristan Harris, and her husband Frank Wilson.
