Hoover Booker "H.B." Strickland

Hoover Booker “H. B.” Strickland, son of the late Joseph and Minnie Baker Strickland passed away on Monday, January 25, 2021 at the age of 82. An US Air Force veteran, H. B. was born in Johnston County on February 21, 1938 and was a 52 year member of Everett Chapel FWB Church.

He is survived by his daughter, Gloria S. Hicks and her husband, Billy; grandchildren, Zachary Jacobs, Annika Coats, Sydney Coats, Lexie Hicks and Amelia Hicks; sister, Violet Davis; special companion, Flora Dismukes; several nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to his parents, he is also preceded in death by his brothers, Horace, Joe “Red”, Charles “Chuck”, Mike, Pete, Bobby Kenneth and Edward “Shorty” Strickland

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, January 26, 2021 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at McLaurin Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 1:00pm on Wednesday, January 27, 2021 at Everett Chapel FWB Church. The interment will follow the services at Pinecrest Memorial Park.
