James Daniel Ross III

January 1, 1955 – September 4, 2014

CLAYTON: James Daniel Ross, III, age 59, passed away Thursday, September 4, 2014 at SECU Hospice House in Smithfield.

Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM Sunday, September 7, 2014 in the chapel of McLaurin Funeral Home with Reverend Jill B. Gonzales officiating. Burial will follow at Pinecrest Memorial Park with military honors.

He was a native of Live Oak, Florida and a truck driver for over 25 years. Daniel was preceded in death by his mother, Marilyn Keene Ross.

He is survived by his wife, Lisa Allen Ross; father and step-mother, J.D. Ross, Jr. and Alice Elaine Ross of Live Oak, FL; four sons, James Ross (Brittany) of Youngsville, NC, William Todd-Ross (Melanie) of Princeton, NC, Aaron Ross (Tammy) of Burlington, NC, and Zack (Asia) of Clayton, NC; four grandchildren, Alex Todd, Brandon Todd, Langdon Ross, and Waylon Ross; one sister, Motina Goff of McAlpine, FL.; one step-sister, Deanna Fillyaw (Steve) of Live Oak, FL.; and several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM Saturday, September 6, 2014 at the funeral home and at other times at the residence.
