Thinking of you all during this time, but we know that your mother is happy reunited with her loved ones in heaven.  Your mother was a very special lady and had a quiet and sweet spirit.  I always enjoyed her brief visits when we lived on Lombard Street.  I am sure you will miss her but we know that you have many happy memories of her as your mom. God bless you all. 

Dear Nancy and John,
I'm your cousin Edward who used to live in Raleigh.  Your mother was very faithful to my mother, Saxe, during her thirty-year illness, visiting often, sometimes taking Mom out for lunch or shopping, even cleaning house.  I remember your family hosting ours for meals in that dining room on the front side (I think) of your house on Lombard Street.   Joyce was Mom's favorite cousin and one she admired and looked up to. I have known Joyce since I was a young girl and babysat Emmett and Nancy who was a baby at the time. I would see her through the years and and she never forgot me.  She was a genuine loving person.  She would always remind me of the time she and Swade came home from an evening out and I calmly told them that the bathroom ceiling had fallen in  ( There were no cell phones back then for me to warn them).
.My thoughts and prayers are with the family and may the memories of a great woman comfort you.

I met Joyce yrs ago when I worked at Brian Center and helped care for her sister, Grace...she was a loving, devoted and tenacious sister...she was kind to us all...to be absent from tbis body is to be present with tbe Lord...prayers for all her family, and special thanks to John...who was so kind and supportive to Benny...God grant y'all that precious peace that truely does pass all understanding...
