

Born on March 1, 1947, Kay lived a life full of love with a keen desire for giving and sacrifice.
Kay was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Dave Hobbs, and she is survived by her son, Carl Varney, and his children, Logan and Michele Nguyen and by her daughter, Kami Keesor, and her children Christopher and Mackenzie Keesor. She will also be dearly missed by her sisters, Katrina West and Karrie Sims, as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Throughout her life, Kay was a lover of music, which brought her joy and comfort. She played flute and enjoyed listening to her husband play professionally. She also had a career as a legal secretary, where her professionalism and dedication earned the respect and admiration of all who worked with her, but above all, she enjoyed spending time with her family whenever possible.
Kay’s kindness, warmth, and loving nature will always be remembered. Her legacy of hard work, devotion to her family, and deep appreciation for life’s simple pleasures will live on in the hearts of all who were lucky enough to have known her.
A Celebration of Life will be held from 12:00-2:00PM on Saturday, September 27, 2025 at the West Virginia Building located in Jackson’s Mill in Weston, West Virginia. (160 Jackson Mill Road, Weston, WV) All who knew her are welcome.
