A memorial service to celebrate Karen’s life will be held at 2:00 PM

Wednesday, November 16, 2022 at Powhatan Original Free Will Baptist

Church, 3468 Powhatan Road, Clayton, North Carolina with Reverend

Johnathan Solomon and Reverend Roger Hill officiating. The family will

receive friends immediately following the memorial service in the

church fellowship hall.

She was born in Rochester, Minnesota on February 27, 1953 to the late

Willard Baker and the late Betty Cooper Baker. In addition to her

parents, she was preceded in death by her brother Tim Baker.

Karen worked at the News & Observer for 11 years and as a United

States Postal Carrier for the USPS for 13 years. She enjoyed reading,

spending time with family and the fellowship with her church family.

She is survived by her husband, Dennis Underwood Sr; one brother,

Tom Baker; one sister, Becky Crapo; three children, Denise Underwood,

Gina Dupree, and Dennis Underwood Jr (DJ); 9 grandchildren: Carrie,

Teresa, Shane, Samantha, Dakota, Michael, Riley, Alhana and

Cheyenne; and 5 great grandchildren.
