A graveside service will be held 3:00 PM Thursday, September 18, 2025 at Maplewood Cemetery in Clayton with James Tucker officiating.

She was born June 10, 1945 in Johnston County. She was preceded in death by her parents Garland and Julia Crowder; her brother Ray Crowder and sisters Margaret Ward, Betty Pollard, Judy Crowder and Eva Ennis.

Laura found joy in life’s simple pleasures - whether it was spending time with family, quiet time reading her Bible, or watching her grandson play sports. She was a dedicated and hardworking individual who retired from Westinghouse after more than 40 years of loyal service. She wore many hats throughout her life - daughter, sister, aunt, and mother - but the role she cherished most was being “Grannie”.

She is survived by her daughter, Lisa Tucker and husband James Tucker; grandson, Gabriel Lewis; brother Larry (Kim) Crowder and sisters, Joyce Lamm, Connie Jones, Johnnie (Don) Brown, Billie (RD) Radford and Carol Barefoot.
