Lily was born in Henderson, NC to David Odell and Maude Estelle Leonhardt on September 10, 1937. She married Benjamin Wade Parsons on May 30, 1956.
She enjoyed spending her time helping others. She worked as a volunteer with the March of Dimes and Shriner's Children's Hospital. She helped check in guests and visitors at Maria Parham Hospital in Henderson. She was a member of the Ladies Guild at the Catholic Church in Henderson, NC.
Lily is survived by her daughter, Debbie and husband, Paul Koop and granddaughter, Michelle Koop.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Benjamin Wade Parsons; her parents, David and Maude Leonhardt; sisters, Alice Adcox, Edna Whitaker, Gloria Hicks, Mary Sue Arnold, and Elsie Ellington; and a brother that passed away in infancy.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the American Heart Association or a Parkinson's charity in Lily's honor.
Visitation will be at St. Ann Catholic Church on Wednesday, February 20, 2019 at 2pm. A funeral mass will take place immediately after at 3pm. The committal service will be at 11am on Thursday, February 21, 2019 at Sunset Gardens in Henderson, NC.
