She was born in Wake County on January 22, 1951 to the late Johnnie Driver and the late Myrtle Stephenson Pettit. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by Shirley, Joyce and Tommy.
Linda was retired from Data General Computers and enjoyed going to the beach, reading, and spending time with loved ones.
She is survived by her husband of 39 years, Gerald “Jerry” Thomas Oakey; three children, Jennifer Everette, Roger Benson, Kevin Lane; grandchildren, Trystyan Atencio, Kendle Lane, Jordan Benson, Jayden Everette; great grandchildren, Aubree, Amira, Jakarii; brothers and sisters, Rusty.
