Margaret Faye Jones Seagroves, born November 30, 1941, in Clayton, North Carolina, went home to be with her Lord on May 30, 2026, surrounded by the family she loved with all her heart. A lifelong resident of Clayton, Margaret lived eighty four years with faith, strength, and a whole lot of love. Today she rests safely in the arms of Jesus.
Margaret was the devoted wife of Eugene “Sonny” Seagroves Jr., and together they shared 54 years of marriage. Their life together was built on love, loyalty, and the kind of everyday faithfulness that stands the test of time.
Her greatest joy and calling in life was caring for others. As a mother and caregiver, Margaret poured herself into her home and her family. She raised her children with steady hands, a loving heart, and a truthfulness they could always depend on. She was a proud and faithful mother to:
• Eugene (Danette) Seagroves III
• Trenton (Kate) Seagroves
• Faith (Phillip) Driver
Her grandchildren were the delight of her days. She loved Dalton Seagroves, Grace (Paxton) Shepard, Zach Driver, Peyton Seagroves, Matthew Dennings, and Will Molnar with all she had—praying for them, cheering them on, and laughing with them every chance she got.
Margaret was preceded in death by her parents, Arthur and Minnie Jones, and by her siblings Verna Mae, Grace, Herman, Duke, Clarence, John, and Marvin, who went on before her. She leaves behind her loving husband, her children and grandchildren, and her brother Grover Jones, who will carry her memory close.
Those who knew Margaret will remember her truthful nature, her lively spirit, and her wonderful sense of humor. She could tell it like it was, make you laugh when you needed it most, and brighten a room just by walking in.
Margaret also loved to cook, and her kitchen was one of the warmest places you could ever step into. Whether she was fixing a big family meal or making a favorite dish “just because,” she cooked with love and a generous heart. Many of her family’s sweetest memories were made around her table.
Margaret’s faith was the steady foundation of her life. She grew up in Clayton and worshiped at First Baptist Church and Hocutt Baptist Church, where she found fellowship, strength, and a church family she dearly loved. In her later years, she was a faithful member of Thanksgiving Baptist Church in Selma, NC, continuing to walk closely with the Lord she trusted all her life.
Though her family will miss her deeply, they take comfort in knowing she is at peace, healed, and safely home. Her legacy of love, faith, and laughter will live on in all who were blessed to know her.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to your favorite charity or Christian foundation in Margaret’s honor.
“Well done, my good and faithful servant.” Matthew 25:21
