AVIS DE DÉCÈS

Monica Del Pilar Diaz

25 janvier 193629 mars 2021

Monica Diaz was born in Santiago, Chile on January 25, 1936 to the late Armando Lira Sepulveda and Adela Lira Canas. She entered through the gates of heaven to be with our loving Lord and Savior on March 29, 2021. She was 85 years old.

Monica is survived by her loving daughter, Monique Ryan, and her husband Norman; two grandsons Shaun Lindstam and his wife Kelsey, and Kyle Ryan and his wife Kat; two great-grandsons Kenny and Keegan Ryan; one great granddaughter, Tally Ericson, two sisters; Isabel Balaguer and Belen Lira, and former husband Rene Diaz. Monica was preceded in death by her parents, Armando and Adela, brother, Armando Lira and late husband, Kenneth White.

She moved to the United States on July 4, 1958 as the beautiful young bride of her late husband, Kenneth T. White, 1Lt, USMC retired. After many years of travel as a military wife, she settled down in Miami, Florida.

After many years in Miami, she met her future husband, Rene Diaz who she loved deeply and eternally.

Monica’s love for her family, kindness for strangers, and compassion for God’s creatures was always on display.

For her family, no sacrifice was too great and no burden too heavy. To each of us, she gave her love unconditionally and in abundance. It was especially joyous to watch her build a special connection with her 4-year-old great-grandson Keegan over the past 2 months. Each time when they saw the other, they would flash a smile bright enough to light the room. When Keegan would come into our home, one of the first things he would ask was, “Where’s Nona? Can I see her?”

A person of modest means, Monica was extremely generous to her community charities such as the SPCA, Veteran organizations, St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital, and strangers on the street. Regardless of how little she had in her wallet, there was always enough to share with others. 2 Corinthians 9:6-8 says, “Remember this: Whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows generously will also reap generously. Each of you should give what you have decided in your heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver.” We can hear God saying to Monica as she entered Heaven, “Well done, Monica, my beautiful daughter. Well done.”
