Peter Jacob LaGattuta

Peter Jacob LaGattuta, 34, of Smithfield, NC, passed away unexpectedly on February 16, 2023. Peter, the son of Peter LaGattuta of New York, and Amy Banko McCormick of Smithfield, NC, was born on April 4, 1988. Raised in Garner, NC, he graduated from Garner High School in 2006 and was a plumber by trade. Peter enjoyed the outdoors, hunting, and fishing. Above all else, Peter loved being a dad and his greatest pride and joy was his daughter, Jadynn.

Life with Peter was anything but dull. He was an absolute jokester who loved to make people smile and laugh. He had a good heart and was a kind soul. Peter was a great friend to many and was generous beyond his means. He left this world too soon.

Peter is survived by: his daughter, Jadynn Dawn LaGattuta, and her cousins, Guiliana, Luka, and Erin; his mother, Amy McCormick (Jim); his father, Peter LaGattuta; his two brothers, Kyle and Adam; his grandfather, Peter Banko; and his special aunt, Margaret Guidi. On both his mother and father’s sides, Peter is survived by many heartbroken aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Peter was preceded in death by both of his grandmothers.

To honor Peter’s life, there will be a memorial service on Tuesday, February 21 at 1:00pm at Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Clayton, NC.
