Phyllis Perkins Welch, age 80, of Clayton, North Carolina passed away on Sunday, December 25, 2022 at the SECU Hospice House in Smithfield. Phyllis was born in Albany, Oregon on December 19, 1942 and was raised in Oregon and Washington. She moved from Tacoma, Washington to Havelock, North Carolina in July of 1981 and lived in Havelock until October of 2022.
She was preceded in death by her parents Russell and Ruth Perkins, her brothers Paul Perkins and David Perkins, her children Michael David Moore and Melinda Rae Moore, her husband Lawrence Welch and her beloved cats.
She is survived by her sister, Sandra Roszman (Doug) of Tacoma, Washington; daughter, Melissa Willey (Randy) of Clayton, North Carolina; sons, Kelly Moore (Stacie) of Eatonville, Washington and Jonathan Moore of Cary, NC; 5 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.
A special thanks to Dr. John Cho and the staff at SECU Comprehensive Cancer Center in New Bern, 3HC Home Health and Hospice Care, the SECU Hospice House in Smithfield and Edward and Ann Bloxom of Havelock who all provided excellent and compassionate care over the past three plus years. No services will be held.
