Raymond Bayard Medlin, 87, of Clayton passed away peacefully Wednesday, October 14, 2015 at SECU Hospice House in Smithfield. He was born October 1, 1928 in Franklin County, NC son of the late John Raymond and Annie Bell Medlin. Raymond was a US Army veteran having served in the Korean War. He was an assistant manager for 39 years at Wimpy Williams Store in Garner and also employed with Hudson Hardware in Clayton for 20 years. A funeral service will be held Friday, October 16 at 2:00 P.M. in the McLaurin Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Lloyd Hargis officiating. Burial will follow in Pinecrest Memorial Park. The family will receive friends Friday from 1:00 – 2:00 P.M. at the funeral home. He is survived by his wife of nearly 65 years and the love of his life, Gladys Smith Medlin, two daughters, Teresa M. Pryse and Rhonda M. Hill (Mike), five grandchildren, Amy Smith (Stephen), Amber Jarman (Brian), Michael Hill (Kristina), Brandon Hill (Sara), and Cameron Hill (Tessa), two great grandchildren, Kaci and Cole Smith, and several nieces and nephews.
